Twellman, Revs Back With a Bang

Taylor Twellman’s debut was a grand one.

The Revolution forward, who missed the first six weeks of the 2008 season, entered the eighth game of the year Sunday at halftime against Chivas USA and scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal ten minutes later in a 2-1 New England win.

Only a last minute consolation goal from Chivas kept Revs 'keeper Matt Reis from coming away with a shutout.

Kenny Mansally gave the Revolution the lead in the 18th minute. A perfect pass from Jeff Larentowicz split two Chivas defenders and allowed Mansally to use his speed and beat the two into the box. The 19-year-old Gambian youth international entered the box and then sent a curling shot into the lower left corner of the goal, out of the reach of 'keeper Brad Guzan, for his second goal of the season and a 1-0 Revs’ lead.
